ETASIS ELECTRONICS™, a leading technology owner of high efficiency switching power supplies, officially announces EFRP-S60B, the first model in redundant module series to offer full compliance of Storage Bridge Bay (SBB) targeted at server and storage application.

SBB is a specification compiled by industry leaders in server and storage technologies that defines mechanical, electrical and low-level enclosure management of an external controller and power supply slot.  Any external controller and power supply based on SBB will be able to fit, connect, and operate within any storage enclosure slot, thus shorten development time for system integrators.

At 600 watts rating, this SBB power supply module can operate with input voltages of 90 Vac to 264 Vac and produces three output power ratings (47A at 12V, 28A at 5V and 2A at 5VSB).

High Efficiency and High Reliability
EFRP-S60B is 80 PLUS®-certified at a wide range of operating loads.  This environmental friendly unit also includes active power factor correction and soft-switching for more efficient power delivery. 

The power supplies are designed to ensure high reliability in demanding industrial applications and are rated for temperatures ranging from 0 degrees to 50 degrees Celsius without de-rating.  Also, the power supplies have minimum mean time between failure (MTBF) of more than 100,000 hours at full load.  Furthermore, protection circuitries such as, short circuit, over current, over voltage, and over temperature prevent system from damaging and ensure maximum safety.

Power Management Bus for Server Management
In addition to high efficient and high reliability, EFRP-S60B also incorporates optional Power Management Bus (PMBus).  PMBus is an open standard power-management protocol with a fully defined command language that facilitates communication with power converters and other devices in a power system. The protocol is implemented over the industry-standard SMBus serial interface and enables programming, control, and real-time monitoring of compliant power conversion products.  EFRP-S60B supports PMBus 1.2, which is latest standard for advanced server/storage power system, and shall includes:

• Input Voltage Reading
• Input Current Reading
• Output Power Reading
• Output Voltage Reading
• Output Current Reading
• FAN Speed Control
• LED Control
• Temperature Monitor
EFRP-S60B has embedded microprocessor and EEPROM transferring data to server controller via SMBus.  The server administrator or system integrator can develop administrative applications to monitor and control power supply based on monitoring results.  The power supply is not a “black box” any more. It can be managed and controlled by system and achieve even higher efficiency and reliability. 

To ensure short design-to-manufacture timelines, Etasis power supplies are pre-certified to meet a range of safety specifications, including CB, CE, TUV, UL, BSMI and CCC certifications
